1. Overview
Rising Seer respects your privacy. This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It applies to all Rising Seer platforms — iOS, Android, and web.

We do not collect contacts, photos, precise location, health data, or advertising identifiers. Voice recordings from the optional voice feature are transcribed to text in real time and are not retained.
4. Technologies We Use
- Sentry: For crash and performance reporting (client-side).
- Firebase (Backend Only): Authentication, Firestore database, and analytics used solely on our server backend — no Firebase SDK runs in the App itself.
- PostHog: Product analytics and feature management, used to understand how features are used and to improve the App.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives purchase and transaction data from the app stores; it does not receive your full payment card details.
- Pinecone: A vector database that stores numerical embeddings derived from your user content so we can provide personalized, context-aware responses. These embeddings are deleted when you delete your account.
- ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech voice synthesis. When you use the voice feature, the text of the app’s spoken response is sent to ElevenLabs to generate audio. ElevenLabs receives only the response text to be spoken, not your birth chart or journal content.
5. Third-Party Language Processing
Rising Seer uses third-party language processing services to generate all personalized insights, reflections, and responses. Use of these services is required to use the app.
Current providers:
- OpenAI (GPT models)
- Google (Gemini models)
- Anthropic (Claude models)
Different providers may power different parts of the Rising Seer experience — for example, Anthropic (Claude) powers our Rising Seer Discord community bot. Additional providers may be added in the future. We will update this policy when providers change.
What we share with language processing services:
- Your questions and journal entries
- Your birth chart data (date, time, location)
- Previous conversation context for personalized responses
- Astrological information and chart interpretations
- Voice recordings from the optional voice feature — transcribed to text by OpenAI (Whisper); audio is processed in real time and not retained
How these providers handle your data:
- Process your data to generate personalized insights and responses
- Do NOT use your data to train language models (per our Data Processing Agreements with providers)
- Do NOT store your data permanently after processing
- Follow enterprise-grade privacy and security standards
- Process data over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
Your options:
- Use Rising Seer and consent to data sharing with language processing services as described above
- Do not use Rising Seer
If you delete your account, all data is removed from our systems and is no longer shared with third-party services.
6. How We Use Data
- Provide and maintain core App functionality
- Authenticate accounts and secure sessions
- Subscriptions & payments: Process and manage subscriptions, verify purchases and entitlements, prevent fraud, and provide billing-related support
- Voice feature (optional): When you use voice input, your recording is transcribed to text so we can process your request. The audio is not stored after transcription.
- Diagnose crashes, improve performance
- Respond to support messages
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use data for advertising, cross-app tracking, or selling personal information.
7. Legal Basis for Processing
- Contractual necessity: To operate your account and provide subscriptions you purchase
- Legitimate interests: Security, debugging, and reliability
- Consent: When you contact us or choose optional features (including the voice feature and language processing services)
8. Retention
- Crash & usage data: up to 24 months
- Account data: until you delete your account
- Purchase & subscription records: retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance
- Support emails: retained until resolved
- Voice recordings: not persistently stored — transcribed in real time and discarded
9. Sharing & Disclosure
We share limited data only when necessary:
- Language processing services: OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic (see Section 5) to generate personalized insights and responses. This is required for app functionality.
- Payment & subscription providers: Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat process and verify your purchases and manage subscription entitlements.
- Service providers: Hosting, Sentry (crash reporting), PostHog (product analytics), Pinecone (vector storage of content embeddings), ElevenLabs (text-to-speech voice synthesis), and email.
- Platform providers: Apple, Google, or equivalent app-store systems that process analytics or diagnostics under their own policies.
- Legal or safety reasons: When required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell or rent personal data.
10. Security
We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and monitoring. Still, no system is 100% secure.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may request to access, correct, delete, or port your data.
Email [email protected] for any request. We’ll respond within 30 days.
12. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States and other regions where our providers operate. We use standard contractual safeguards when required.
13. Children
Rising Seer is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
14. Not Professional Advice
All Rising Seer content — including insights, reflections, and readings — is for personal development and entertainment only.
It is not legal, medical, mental-health, or financial advice.
Please consult a qualified professional for guidance in those areas.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services evolve. The “Effective” date above reflects the most recent version.
