1. Overview

Rising Seer respects your privacy. This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It applies to all Rising Seer platforms — iOS, Android, and web.

We do not collect contacts, photos, precise location, or health data. Voice recordings from the optional voice feature are transcribed to text in real time and are not retained.

4. Technologies We Use

Sentry: For crash and performance reporting (client-side).
Firebase (Backend Only): Authentication, Firestore database, and analytics used solely on our server backend — no Firebase SDK runs in the App itself.
PostHog: Product analytics and feature management, used to understand how features are used and to improve the App.
RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives purchase and transaction data from the app stores; it does not receive your full payment card details.
Pinecone: A vector database that stores numerical embeddings derived from your user content so we can provide personalized, context-aware responses. These embeddings are deleted when you delete your account.
ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech voice synthesis. When you use the voice feature, the text of the app’s spoken response is sent to ElevenLabs to generate audio. ElevenLabs receives only the response text to be spoken, not your birth chart or journal content.
Singular: Singular is Rising Seer’s mobile measurement and attribution provider for Android and iOS. Singular processes limited device, app, install, campaign, account, and conversion information on our behalf to attribute installs, subscription conversions, in-app purchases (IAPs), and other key app events, measure and optimize advertising performance, operate deferred links and referrals, and prevent attribution fraud.

iOS App Tracking Transparency. On iOS and iPadOS, Rising Seer requests permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework before accessing the device’s advertising identifier or tracking activity across apps or websites owned by other companies. If permission is denied or unavailable, Rising Seer does not access the IDFA or perform that cross-company tracking. Campaign measurement may instead use Apple’s privacy-preserving attribution technologies, including AdAttributionKit or SKAdNetwork, which provide limited or aggregated attribution postbacks without exposing the IDFA. App-scoped identifiers such as IDFV and limited device or app information may still be processed for permitted analytics, attribution, security, and fraud-prevention purposes.

Rising Seer does not send questions, journal entries, birth-chart information, chat content, or voice recordings to Singular or advertising partners for advertising or attribution.

Facebook Login is not integrated into Rising Seer. Rising Seer does not request or use a person’s Facebook public profile or Facebook email address.

5. Third-Party Language Processing

Rising Seer uses third-party language processing services to generate all personalized insights, reflections, and responses. Use of these services is required to use the app.

Current providers:

OpenAI (GPT models)
Google (Gemini models)
Anthropic (Claude models)

Different providers may power different parts of the Rising Seer experience — for example, Anthropic (Claude) powers our Rising Seer Discord community bot. Additional providers may be added in the future. We will update this policy when providers change.

What we share with language processing services:

Your questions and journal entries
Your birth chart data (date, time, location)
Previous conversation context for personalized responses
Astrological information and chart interpretations
Voice recordings from the optional voice feature — transcribed to text by OpenAI (Whisper); audio is processed in real time and not retained

How these providers handle your data:

Process your data to generate personalized insights and responses
Do NOT use your data to train language models (per our Data Processing Agreements with providers)
Do NOT store your data permanently after processing
Follow enterprise-grade privacy and security standards
Process data over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)

Your options:

Use Rising Seer and consent to data sharing with language processing services as described above
Do not use Rising Seer

If you delete your account, your account and account-linked personal data are removed from our systems and are no longer shared with third-party language-processing services, subject to the limited retention described in Section 8.

6. How We Use Data

Provide and maintain core App functionality
Authenticate accounts and secure sessions
Subscriptions & payments: Process and manage subscriptions, verify purchases and entitlements, prevent fraud, and provide billing-related support
Voice feature (optional): When you use voice input, your recording is transcribed to text so we can process your request. The audio is not stored after transcription.
Diagnose crashes, improve performance
Respond to support messages
Attribution & advertising measurement (limited): Attribute installs, subscription conversions, in-app purchases (IAPs), and other key app events; measure and optimize Rising Seer advertising; operate deferred links and referrals; calculate campaign performance and return on ad spend; and prevent attribution fraud.
Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your questions, journal entries, birth-chart data, chat content, or voice recordings for advertising or attribution. We do use limited device and event data for advertising measurement and attribution as described in Sections 3, 4, and 9.

7. Legal Basis for Processing

Contractual necessity: To operate your account and provide subscriptions you purchase
Legitimate interests: Security, debugging, and reliability
Consent: When you contact us or choose optional features (including the voice feature and language processing services)

8. Retention

Crash and diagnostic data: retained for up to 24 months.
Account and account-linked personal data: retained until you delete your account.
Product analytics after account deletion: limited product-usage events may remain after we delete the associated analytics person profile and its account-linked properties, including the email address. We use retained events only for aggregate product reporting and product improvement, not to identify or contact you.
Purchase and subscription records: retained only as required for tax, accounting, legal-compliance, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Support emails: retained until the request is resolved.
Voice recordings: not persistently stored; recordings are transcribed in real time and discarded.

9. Sharing & Disclosure

We share limited data only when necessary:

Language processing services: OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic (see Section 5) to generate personalized insights and responses. This is required for app functionality.
Payment & subscription providers: Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat process and verify your purchases and manage subscription entitlements.
Referral payouts: Stripe (Stripe Connect) processes identity verification, tax, bank-account, and payout information for peer referral program participants who elect cash rewards. Stripe processes that information under its own privacy policy and service agreements.
Attribution & measurement: Singular processes attribution data as Rising Seer’s service provider (data processor). Singular may send limited install and conversion postbacks to advertising partners we configure — currently Meta, Google Ads, and TikTok.
Subscription-lifecycle data: RevenueCat supplies subscription-lifecycle information (such as trial, purchase, and renewal events) used for conversion measurement.
Service providers: Hosting, Sentry (crash reporting), PostHog (product analytics), Pinecone (vector storage of content embeddings), ElevenLabs (text-to-speech voice synthesis), and email.
Platform providers: Apple, Google, or equivalent app-store systems that process analytics or diagnostics under their own policies.
Legal or safety reasons: When required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell or rent personal data.

Peer referral program participation is also governed by the Peer Referral Program Terms.

10. Security

We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and monitoring. Still, no system is 100% secure.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may request to access, correct, delete, or port your data.

To request deletion of your account, visit our Account Deletion page.

When you delete your Rising Seer account, we delete or de-identify the account and personal data associated with it from Rising Seer systems, except information we must retain for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute-resolution, or legal-compliance purposes. Account deletion stops future data from being associated with that Rising Seer account. It does not require deletion of aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies or relates to an individual. You may contact support@risingseer.com to exercise additional privacy rights. We process requests involving our service providers as required by applicable law.

12. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States and other regions where our providers operate. We use standard contractual safeguards when required.

13. Children

Rising Seer is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

14. Not Professional Advice

All Rising Seer content — including insights, reflections, and readings — is for personal development and entertainment only.

It is not legal, medical, mental-health, or financial advice.

Please consult a qualified professional for guidance in those areas.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services evolve. The “Effective” date above reflects the most recent version.
